Where to Find Fashion in Paris
Many clients and people traveling to France ask me to recommend
where to find fashion in Paris, and although it may sound cliché, the truth
is that Paris is filled with fashion. Unlike many cities that have
fashionable districts, Paris is packed to the brim with inspirational
styles and trends that fill the beautiful boutiques, and spill out
into the streets, cafes, and parks. Simply put, everywhere in Paris is
a great place to find fashion, all it takes is an observant eye and an
appreciation for personal style.
One of my favorite places to find fashion in Paris is while lunching
at a chic café, such as L’Avenue or Hotel Costes. These cafés are
located in the heart of major shopping destinations, and are always
graced by the presence of celebrities and fashionably high society. It
is as simple as watching and learning from the immaculately dressed
woman lunching next to you or passing by on the street. People
watching at cafes, in the park, and while shopping the boutiques is an
excellent way to discover the style secrets of Parisian women and gain
tips on how to look as if you have always lived in the City of Light.
Of course, when looking for fashion in Paris, the question is more
about when than where, as timing plays a huge role. The best time to
find fashion in the city is during Paris Fashion Week, which occurs in
January and July for Haute Couture, and October and March for
Pret-a-Porter. During these times of year Paris is particularly packed
with chic woman who set an excellent example of how to pull of the
fashions of the upcoming season in style.
Fabulously dressed
socialites are photographed attending the shows, models from around
the world bring an international feel to the fashion scene, and
trend-setting looks can be seen by day on the busy streets or at night
gracing glamorous parties. Truly, it is during these months of the
year when fashion in Paris is at its prime.
