Chanel & Fashion Designer Karl Lagerfeld

The House of Chanel, since its founding in 1910 by Coco Chanel, has revolutionized and captivated the fashion industry with its classic style and uniquely chic designs. Chanel has achieved international acclaim and recognition for its ability to introduce, season after season, the trends of today without compromising its timeless simplicity. Chanel’s interlocking double C is coveted by high society and young socialites alike, and has become a status symbol signifying elitism, luxury, and privilege.

Below is a short snippet of a chat I had with Karl Lagerfeld at an event in 2007.

Chanel is one of my favorite fashion houses in Paris due to its versatility and understated sexiness. Karl Lagerfeld’s unique and audacious designs have taken a fresh and innovative approach on Coco’s seductively classic style. Adored by both young Hollywood and ladies that lunch, Chanel’s Scottish inspired tweeds and quilted patterns have an ageless quality that enables them to pass through generations and family closets.

My most recent meeting with Karl was during Chanel’s Paris Pret-a-Porter this past October. Admiring the collection filled with American prints of stars and stripes, I found myself dreaming of garden parties and gorgeous dresses that give a new aged touch to the liberating “little black dress”, which has been a staple of Chanel since its introduction in 1926. A true fashion house, Chanel will continue to combine classic with cutting edge in a way that executes Coco’s visionary elegance and meets even the highest standards.
